Organizing homes in Dallas
If your house has stopped working and nobody in it has a spare Saturday, you are the reason we started here. Dallas is our home market and the most varied one we work in. In a single week we might edit one shallow reach-in closet in a Lakewood Tudor, then plan containment for a dual primary suite in Preston Hollow. Those two jobs share almost nothing except the standard you expect at the end of them. Dallas is really a collection of very different neighborhoods, so we treat it that way, and the enclaves below each have a page of their own.
Your house was probably built for a different century of living. A 1926 Tudor in Lakewood was designed around a wardrobe of six dresses. A rebuilt estate off Strait Lane has more hanging space than most families know how to fill. The problem is genuinely opposite at each end of that range, so the plan has to be too.
The projects Dallas books
Two things bring us into Dallas homes. Households where nobody has a free Saturday, and beautiful older houses whose storage was designed for a way of living that ended decades ago.
-
Estate closets and dressing rooms
North of Northwest Highway the storage is usually custom millwork, installed by someone excellent and never actually configured. We work inside what your cabinetmaker built rather than adding visible product to a room designed not to have any.
-
Original closets in pre-war homes
Lakewood, Devonshire and the M Streets often give you one shallow closet per bedroom and no linen storage worth the name. The answer is rarely more bins. It is vertical space, off-season rotation out of the room, and honest editing.
-
Two-career household kitchens
Our most requested Dallas space. When nobody in the house has a free Saturday, the kitchen and pantry absorb the chaos first. We zone by what actually gets cooked on a Tuesday, not by what photographs well.

Why Dallas homeowners choose Messy Buns
We are based here, so we know the difference between a Lakewood Tudor and a rebuilt Preston Hollow estate before we walk in. Our rate is published rather than quoted blind, nothing gets bought until the sorting is done, and the donations leave in our vehicles the same day.
-
The rate is published
$160 an hour, on the pricing page rather than behind a quote form. You get a written hour range after the walkthrough, before anything is booked.
-
Nothing is bought until the sorting is done
We do not sell product packages. Containment is specified against what is actually staying and billed at cost, which is why we ask you not to buy bins first.
-
Donations leave with us the same day
Loaded into our vehicles before we go, with a receipt back to you. Bags waiting in a garage for a trip that never happens is how a room refills.
When it is a good time to call us in Dallas
When the house has stopped working and nobody has a spare Saturday to fix it. In Dallas that is usually one of two households: a two-career family whose kitchen has absorbed all the chaos, or an older home whose closets were built for a different century of living.
- You're moving, or you've just moved in and boxes are taking over
- Life has changed: a new baby, downsizing, combining households or a growing family
- Clutter is costing you time, money or peace of mind
- You've tried DIY organizing before and it just didn't stick
- You want your home to finally match the life you're actually living
Dallas is our base, so scheduling is the most flexible here and we can sometimes take shorter sessions. If you are in a high-rise or a condo, tell us the freight elevator and move-in rules when you call. Those constrain the day more than the work does.

Organizing in Dallas: common questions
Do you work in older Dallas homes with small closets?
Constantly. Homes in Lakewood, Devonshire and the M Streets often have a single shallow closet per bedroom. That is a real constraint rather than a failure of tidiness, and the fix is vertical space and editing rather than more product.
Which Dallas neighborhoods do you serve?
All of them. Preston Hollow, Bluffview and Lakewood have pages of their own because the housing stock in each is distinct enough to need a different approach, and Highland Park and University Park do as well.
Do you charge extra to travel to Dallas?
A travel fee can apply depending on where you are relative to our Dallas base, and Dallas is inside our service area. It is quoted in writing with your estimate, so you have the number before anything is booked rather than finding it on the invoice. For the markets furthest out we book full-day blocks rather than short sessions.
How quickly can you start in Dallas?
Single spaces usually book a couple of weeks out. Moves want four to six weeks, and longer through the summer, which is peak season here. If you have a closing date, call with it even if nothing is packed: the plan is worth more than the lead time.
How much does home organizing cost in Dallas?
It starts at $160 per hour and the rate is published rather than quoted. Most single rooms run six to twelve hours. You get a written hour range after the walkthrough, before anything is booked, and organizing products are billed separately at cost.
Do you work elsewhere in Dallas County?
Yes. Dallas is one of the areas we name because we work there often enough to say something specific about it, not because our range stops at the city limit. If your street is nearby and not listed, it almost certainly still falls inside our range.
Do I need to tidy up before you arrive?
Please do not. Seeing how the space actually works on an ordinary day is the only way to build a system that holds, and a tidied room hides the problem we were called about.
What happens to the things I let go of?
They leave with us the same day. Donations go to local organizations with a receipt back to you, and anything worth selling is set aside separately so you can decide. Bags left in a garage are how a room refills.
Spaces we organize in Dallas
Nine rooms, each with its own approach. Every one has a page of its own with what is included and what it costs.
-
Closets
Walk-ins, reach-ins and the shared primary nobody has been able to fix. Category zoning, seasonal rotation and storage that finally uses the dead space above the rod.
Learn more -
Pantries
Dry storage zoned around how you actually cook, decanted only where it earns its keep, and labeled so a grocery unload lands right without you supervising it.
Learn more -
Kitchens
Cabinets and drawers zoned around the way you cook, the appliance graveyard resolved, and a fridge that stops burying last week under this week.
Learn more -
Garages
Off the slab and onto the wall. Seasonal storage up high, bins rated for Texas heat, and a floor you can park a car on again.
Learn more -
Bathrooms
Drawers, cabinets and linen closets that stop swallowing everything. Daily rotation at the front, backstock contained, counters actually clear.
Learn more -
Playrooms
Toys with categories a child can actually follow, at a height they can reach, and a system that survives every birthday.
Learn more -
Nurseries
Sized for the stage you are in now, with the next sizes stored separately so the room does not fill with clothes nobody fits.
Learn more -
Laundry Rooms
Supplies off the folding surface and onto the wall, cleaning kept apart from laundry, and a routine that fits the narrow room you actually have.
Learn more -
Mudrooms & Utility
A hook, a bin and a shoe zone per person, seasonal gear contained, and a drop-off that stops migrating onto the kitchen island.
